The Michael Rees Foundation
A Life in Evidence
Michael Rees lived the way most people only hope to — fully present, deeply connected, and unafraid of joy.
He was an uncle who showed up like no one else. The photographs tell you that immediately — the way he was with his nieces, the way he laughed with them, the way he made every moment feel like it was the only one that mattered.
He was a friend who made every room brighter. On the water, on a mountain, at a stadium, at a dinner table — Michael brought something rare: the ability to make the people around him feel like the moment mattered.
He surfed. He traveled. He served. He loved. He left behind a trail of evidence that tells a story no one who knew him will ever forget — and that no one who didn't know him should be denied the chance to understand.
This Foundation exists because of Michael. Because his life proved what Reconstructography believes: that a human life, when reconstructed honestly from its evidence, reveals something profound and irreplaceable.
"Every photograph is evidence. Every moment preserved is a gift to the future."
Evidence is the key. Understanding is the door.

About the Foundation
The Michael Rees Foundation was established to advance research, education, preservation, and public understanding through the principles of Reconstructography.
Named in honor of a life that demonstrated what it means to live with evidence, integrity, and wisdom — the Foundation carries that legacy forward into the world.
Our Belief
"Every human life — regardless of origin, status, or era — deserves to be understood honestly."
This is not a sentiment. It is a commitment backed by methodology, research, and the Canon of Reconstructography.
Foundation Pillars
To advance the science and practice of Reconstructography — making evidence-based human understanding available to individuals, families, institutions, and communities worldwide.
Funding and publishing foundational research. Developing educational curriculum. Building the academic and professional infrastructure for Reconstructography as a discipline.
Supporting the preservation of evidence before it is lost. Partnering with archives, libraries, and communities to protect the raw material of human understanding.
Ensuring that Reconstructography is not only for the privileged. Scholarships, grants, and open-access publications make the methodology available to all who need it.
Honoring the lives that inspired this work. Ensuring that the people who made Reconstructography possible are themselves remembered with the dignity they deserve.
Working toward a world where every human life — regardless of origin, status, or era — has the opportunity to be understood honestly and completely.
